About

The John’s family of pharmacies started with a single store in Cape Girardeau over thirty years ago.

As a locally owned family of pharmacies, John’s has proudly served Southeast Missouri for over 35 years in both our retail and long term care pharmacies. Starting out as a single pharmacy in Cape Girardeau, our family of pharmacies has now grown to eight locations, all of which are focused on a single purpose: positively impacting people with kindness, excellence and unwavering service.

We have grown to include John’s Rx, our Long Term Care Pharmacy, as well as seven retail pharmacies throughout the region.

JOHN'S PHARMACY

John McMullin is a 1965 graduate of St. Louis College of Pharmacy and, long-time owner and founder of John’s Pharmacy. Through his years of experience, changes and growth, John's goal has always been to provide patients and employees with “extra-mile care.”  Originally from Essex, Missouri, John worked throughout pharmacy school and continued to work in St. Louis until 1967, when he returned to Sikeston, operating an independent pharmacy.  In 1972 he relocated to Cape Girardeau to work for Medicare Pharmacy.  In 1990, when Medicare Pharmacy closed, John made the pivotal decision to open John’s Pharmacy.  His pharmacy, services, and staff of three have grown considerably since that time.  Still, he places the highest value on people.  John still works in the pharmacy daily, and enjoys the one-on-one relationships with the patients and staff that he has built over his 55-year career.
